Transforming Public Dialogue at Reduced Rates

DESCRIPTION OF SUBMISSION:

FACTnet alpha will be presented as means to engage the public in meaningful, ongoing, organic, generative dialogue, with the view of creating a bright new future for all, through developing FACTSnet .0

OBJECTIVE:

To increase public engagement, while reducing spending.

DISCUSSION:

• FACTSnet alpha has been in the development stages for several years. Last year it was given a significant boost through CSJ (Canada Summer Jobs) funding. 
• This year, through additional Canada Summer Jobs funding, we are developing FACTSnet beta,.see Spruce Grove, Stony Plain, Parkland County and West Edmonton Summer 2010 
• Next year we hope to partner with the City of Spruce Grove and others to develop FACTnet version 0.0

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

Although, as the above objective states, costs will be reduced. There will need to be some initial investment of time to develop proposals for next year.

1. Increased Community Engagement.
